Chakka varattiyatu is a traditional jackfruit dish of Kerala. Riped jackfruits and jaggery are the main ingredients for making this delicious dish. Sweetness of jackfruit along with the jaggery syrup gives a unique flavour to this product. Out of the two main varieties of jackfruit (Chakka) found in Kerala, Varikka Chakka is preferred for making this product as it is more sweet, firm and fleshy than Kuzha chakka. It is also considered to be one of the products rich in natural fibre and nutrients.
